What Laptop Do you recommend for Online Gaming?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin in online gaming | 11 Comments »

I am currently looking for a Laptop for online Gaming, Such games as World of Warcraft, Runescape, and programs such as Skype and Itunes.

I Love Toshiba and Dell Brand, But I am willing to try other kinds of Laptops. I would prefer not having a desktop. I currently have a Toshiba Satellite A125, But it has majorily begun to work slower and is really just getting old.

I have a budget of $850, I wouldn’t mind if it was a little bit over though.

Thanks in Advance!

Before making a final decision on ANY brand, check reviews!

Here are a few places that will help you:

CPUs (Central Processing Unit) are one thing for games (and other things like 3D) "BUT" the most important is the GPU.

Alas laptops make sacrifices in the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) department and MOST use the (shared memory) Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD which is only a class 3 GPU (AKA Low-Midrange Graphics Chip).

These GPUs are considered the lower end of the Graphics Chips for users who want to play games.

New games should run on these cards, but only with decreased details and mediocre resolution.

And the fact that it is "shared" memory means that it steals RAM from your system that you cannot use elsewhere.

But here are two possibilities: a "Good" choice and a "Very good" choice

The good (@ $679.99): The Asus UX50V-RX05 Laptop with Intel Centrino Processor

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9366544&type=product&id=1218092153204

Why is it a good choice ?

Good screen (15.6")

Better GPU compared to the normal Intel (NVIDIA GEFORCE G 105M also a class 3 BUT with (dedicated not shared) memory)

The fact that its memory is dedicated means you keep your other RAM for the operating system.

Big Hard Drive (500GBs)

The "Very good" (@ $799.99): The lenovo IdeaPad Y550 (41865BU) NoteBook with the Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 (2.10GHz), 15.6" Wide XGA, 4GB Memory, 320GB HDD @ 5400rpm, Dual layer DVD Burner "AND" a 512mb (dedicated not shared) NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146584

Why is it a very good choice ?

The CPU, a Core 2 Duo

The NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M, a dedicated memory class 2 GPU (AKA Midrange Graphics Chip)

These chips should be able to display all current games with fluent framerates but not all with high detail settings.

Especially demanding games like Crysis, Age of Conan, or Mass Effect are only playable with lower settings.

Less demanding (and older) games, like Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, or Battlefield 2142 can be played with higher detail levels.

You can look at the specs for all GPUs on these pages:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-4500MHD-GMA-X4500MHD.9883.0.html

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-G-105M.13790.0.html

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-130M.13789.0.html

The 3DMark 05* score for the NVIDIA GEFORCE G 105M is 3731 and the one for the 4500MHD is 1269.

Look at the very good 10417 NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M score in the benchmark compared to the others.

* Bigger is better for that benchmark

If you get a bonus at work, does it count towards the total earnings for social security?

I am trying to figure out when I have met the threshold of 102K when they stop withholding social security. If there is a bonus included in the ytd earnings number, does it count towards the 102K for 2008?

Yes.

How many RAM slots does a Dell Inspiron 2600 have?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin in slots | 1 Comment »

I checked online and many websites say it has 2 slots. I checked in my own Laptop and it has only one slot. Is there maybe another slot somewhere in the laptop? Could somebody send me a picture of an inspiron 2600 with 2 slots?

This is the Dell User Manual page for your laptop – Inspiron 2600 which shows only one memory module – see below for the reason they say there are two slots…

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins2600/en/sm_en/upgrades.htm#999869

From the Kingston memory website: Quote:
Comments This system has two DIMM sockets. One is user-accessible, the other is factory-configurable.

Now for additional information: http://www.memory-up.com/Memory/DellInspiron212.html
Quote: # For the hidden memory slot under the keyboard, please follow the instructions to remove the keyboard and EMI Shield.

These people provide you with all of the info you need to get to & replace the hidden memory. Also, take note of the info about which machines will accept 2 sticks of the 512mb memory modules

Hope this helps.

How do people transfer money to their account on those Internet gambling sites?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin in internet gambling | 5 Comments »

I have heard credit card companies will not allow them to be used at sites like BODOGLIFE.COM, COVERS.COM, BETUS.COM, BOOKMAKER.COM.

You’ll get a variety of answers. I’ll just say that there are many existing services that act as intermediaries. You can deposit to an account with services like Money Bookers, Neteller, and many others. Then you transfer from those services to your account. Getting money into the services themselves can be done by various methods, including bank wire transfers.

An apparently popular method nowadays is to use prepaid visa cards, which you purchase with a certain amount on them. Many bank issued credit cards will reject payment to any known gambling sites, but the prepaid cards which are not registered to a bank account holder will authorize charges to the same sites.

Look for something called the "Visa All Access Gift Card."

What do you know of the online gambling bill? What are your opnions?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin in online gambling | 4 Comments »

I personally think it’s horrible that the government is trying to stop online gambling. If the government is going to try to shut down online casinos they might as well shut down land casinos as well. But their not going to do that because they a lot of money off of the land casinos. With the online gambling they don’t.

It is outrageous. Bill Frist is a little Nazi that decided to shove this bill right into an anti-terrorism bill just to push his radical Christian Right agenda.

He claimed it was to stop online gambling because gambling is wrong, yet the bill legalizes online horse race betting, online lotteries and online fantasy sports betting.

Thankfully the government is not going to succeed. You can still use a company like Neteller to deposit and withdraw funds from your poker account, and major sites like PokerStars.com and FullTiltPoker.com are still allowing US players.

Given that over 74% of Americans believe that online gambling should be legal, this bill is just an outrageous abuse of power and a flagrant disregard for the democratic process.

But keep in mind that it is still completely legal to gamble online, this bill does not create penalties for players. Hopefully the upcoming elections will shake up these idiots that wish to take away our freedom. Maybe another administration will see the obvious truth which is that the sensible approach is legalization, regulation, and taxation. This would generate billions in revenue for America.

What has been your experience with online casinos?

I am looking into gambling on online casinos. I’ve played poker on fulltilt and pokerstars and enjoyed that. I was wondering how online casinos were when it comes to safety and security? Are they safe and secure when it comes to playing with real money. Is it easy to deposit and withdraw money. If so…which online casinos are the safest and most secure with the best ease of play and transactions…basically what is the best online casino.

How can I help my husband from quitting gambling addiction?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 by admin in gambling | 7 Comments »

He doesn’t accept he’s addicted to gambling. For him is completely natural and fun to go 3 or 4 times a week to the casino and spend about a $2,000 a month gambling. What can I do? I want to save our marriage. This situation is killing me.

bet him 2000 that he can’t stop. he’ll have to take and if he looses you’ll have the 2000. do this every month

What happens if you count cards at blackjack in Indian casinos?

Posted on May 29th, 2010 by admin in blackjack | 6 Comments »

Traditionally, in Vegas-type casinos, if a card-counter is detected, he is escorted into an office and cheerfully informed that if he ever returns they will break both his legs. I was wondering if Indian casinos have continued this tradition. For those unaware, card-counting, based on the "tens strategy", beats the house at blackjack.

It all depends on their attitude.

Your description of the Vegas policies in not correct, except in the vast minority of cases. They will not threaten a person, but will usually politiely ask him not to return because his caliber of play is too skillful. If the person does return, then he might be "86,d" or read a trespass act to not return.

Card counting is simply a skilled way of playing the game, like remembering the letters that have already been used in a game of Scrabble.

Here’s an interesting article:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/414698/can_you_make_money_consistently_by.html

You might want to ask more about the currrent policies of Indian casinos on the forum at bj21.com (Stanford Wong’s site), but I think there are better, more entrepreneurial ways to make money.
